Personal fitness training is often a private interaction between client and fitness trainer on a one to one basis over a period of time and involves a bond between client and trainer ultimately leading to the desired result of a goal such as the shedding of weight, building of muscle, body toning, fitness levels and stamina.
A fitness trainer will discuss the client’s requirements and put together a specific tailored training plan which will be implemented over a period of sessions, adding and removing strategies and exercises to reach the end goal.
Reassurance and guidance on the correct exercise or technique in the safe way without any risk of harm or injury is part of the work of a PFT.
Each session safely pushes the client to a new level of intensity which is appropriate for that client’s condition including levels of fitness and health condition.
Training sessions often last round an hour and involve warming up and warming down at the end of the session including various stretching techniques.
Along with physical activities is also good dietary advice and guidance and may involve a food diary or even lifestyle coaching to bring you into a healthier place both physically, dietary and mentally.
With a new personal fitness training lifestyle there is no need to go on crash diets or cut out carbohydrates as this is completely unnecessary as long as you train hard for at least one hour a day, your body will need plenty of good carbohydrates and good calories, on average between 2,000 2,500 per day working down to possibly 1800 a day.
Any less than this is too little if you are in training. In other words as long as your training you actually need to eat more to burn off fat and the food you eat must be correct food the body demands.
Taking up fitness training or going to fitness training sessions can be life changing and an amazing buzz.

Many areas in personal fitness training are covered in this program. As a personal fitness instructor you may be required to create and design a fitness plan for the needs of each client you may work with. A PFT is often the tutor, coach, motivator, diet and nutritional adviser to the client.
This course is open to anyone with or without any background training.

Upon completion of this home learning programme, students should be able to understand the basics of many key areas within this subject. Participants of the course will have acquired an overall basic understanding of the subject matter and will have achieved a sound basis to summarize important topics and be reasonably competent to make further progress and educational development in this field with a range of theoretical skills and insights to assist with any short or long term goals.
This course is assessed upon the successful completion and submission of coursework with a Pass, Merit or Distinction. Distinction is 90%. All content is course work based, home study through the post or online, depending on the subject being studied. NO attendance or visits to any exam centre is required on this subject.
There are NO entry requirements. No background training or qualifications are required. Anyone can enrol at any time, beginners, intermediates and experienced all year round. You are expected to be able to read and write or type/word process your coursework and be able to understand the English language.
