Course Description

Traditional Chinese Medicine Diploma Course

Traditional Chinese medicine course, offers an exciting alternative and complementary therapeutic approach to assist with healing western sickness and ill health using an established Asian medicine system based on the concepts of Qi or commonly known as Chi or vital energy.

In the West we perceive general medicine as a way of addressing sickness and disease directly from an external point in contrast to traditional Chinese medicine specifically focuses on the cultivation of harmony and well-being throughout our lives in many other interconnected ways.

TCM believes that by achieving harmony you bring better improved health, well-being and much needed sustainability.

The opposite of harmony is disharmony which is perceived to lead to disease sickness and failure.

In TCM the perspective is as the whole rather than parts and considers everything in context as interrelated and totally connected.

This includes our exercise or lack of it, our diets and how we deal with environmental factors such as stress along with our social interaction with both people close and society and further afield as much as our environmental interactions.

TCM treats illness and reduces or prevents further diseases and also enhances well-being, optimises both physical and mental health internally and externally throughout the world.

Traditional Chinese medicine is a very profound and active Asian medical system and has an extensive library of research to back it up.

TCM can be traced back two and a half thousand years and has now developed and evolved into a very advanced system of medicine.

Traditional Chinese medicine is used by millions of people around the world and has many tens of thousands of practitioners.

This course provides an overall study and complete introduction that practitioners, amateurs or professionals do need to know.

This course outlines all the fundamental theories of traditional Chinese medicine approaches which include the five elements, yin/yang, Xiang, Qi, the collaterals and meridians around the body.

Provides a rich explanation on the basic principles on how these elements interact and work and minutely describes how they can be used to recognise, treat and prevent sickness or disease.

This course is open for anyone with or without any background training with an interest in learning more about TCM.

Ideally suited to anyone already with a therapeutic background and qualified in related therapies of this nature.

Suitable for trainees and students alike and would make an ideal add-on or bolt on to your existing qualifications or current training course.

This is also suitable for personal self development and anyone with interests in self teaching, medication and the like.

Covers all the theoretical sides of the subject and would be considered a good entry level beginner subject making way for further specialist study in this and related area.
