Course Description

Why do you or others get excessively angry?

Generally speaking we get angry when we get frustrated with a thing or situation within or outside of ourselves. This frustration may turn to a feeling of ‘losing control’. This can happen so quickly that we leap straight to the anger response to avoid the deep rooted ‘blocked out’ emotional pain that is beneath the anger. The anger response usually regains our control either over ourselves, feelings or the situation we are in at that time.

The causes of anger are within the angry person and certainly not in the situation that triggers that anger.

Anger, like hate is a more manageable way of dealing with the underlying un-dealt with emotion, it’s original charge and memories from that charge (forgotten) becomes converted from it’s suppressed state. Because that emotion was not accepted at a conscious level (usually illogically misinterpreted) for whatever reason and pushed away as a natural protective process.

Because of it’s reactive effect then, and because it was pushed away and not accepted, it now operates at an unconscious level outside your immediate control which basically means that when you come into contact with certain things – (stimuli) then through ‘association’ we react more than the situation usually warrants, where others don’t – simply because we are expressing so much more than we are aware of. It all seems to come at once! (sound familiar?)

This is why we go often ‘over the top’ to certain pointless and seemingly trivial and often harmless situations, because for many reasons, these situations – triggers are very personally associated to hurt and pain that we choose to ignore and never deal with, probably because we can’t.

To understand anger it is essential to examine the process and underlying causes and triggers of the anger. This course will do just that.

This course is intended to give you a certain amount of knowledge on how to deal with conflict within yourself and others. It will help you to learn how to manage certain situations in your life that you may be directly involved in as well as specific scenarios that you may observe or be asked to help with others.
