Indian head massage is an amazing subject for two main reasons.

  • Glorious feelings of relaxation will be experienced within 10 minutes into an Indian head massage.
  • Literally anyone can learn Indian head massage and practice it competently in a short period of time and make a full or part-time living out of it.

What you can earn as a masseur?

Professional Indian head masseurs may charge £50 or £60 per hour and more per session which can be carried out anywhere including the home or workplace. The length of sessions averages around 30 minutes and up to one hour.

Running a small Indian head massage service either mobile or travelling to the clients or them visiting you is easy. Just three or four clients will pay for this course.

Introduction

Indian head massage had been originally practiced in the East in India for over 1000 years.

In its beginnings head massaging was exactly that, just head massage specifically targeted to females to help improve hair growth and scalp conditions.

As time passed by these massage techniques have spread all over the world allowing the techniques to be extended to incorporate upper and lower neck, trapezius muscles and even shoulders, upper arms, face and upper back but more commonly it is first and foremost the head and neck that is worked upon although this can be extended further per consultation with clients if required.

Health Benefits

The benefits of working with the head and neck are several including links to a belief that the energy points will be awakened and that by treating these the entire body can benefit from better health which can include the immediate relief from physical tension bringing a sense of heightened well-being and relaxation. This has an almost guaranteed side-effect for most people who have undergone head massage irrespective of any energy points or chakras existing.

Claims

Additional reports from clients include a sense of peace and tranquility, lighter, floating feelings and a lifting of burdens with increased alertness and better focus and concentration.

Although there are many claims, Indian head massage can promote physical and psychological change in the removal and reduction of unwanted symptoms, we however can only include provable benefits without bordering on unproven claims or bizarre exaggeration.

Positive Results

We can however confidently suggest the following can result from a head and neck massage.

The immediate relaxing of muscles which in turn produces good body chemicals and less stress producing chemicals.

The reduction or the removal of tension headaches.

Fibrous adhesions can be reduced.

Improved blood circulation and an increase in oxygen.

A reduction in eye strain or pressure. Commonsense suggests possible.

Almost certainly will improve disturbed or broken sleep and insomnia. Increased concentration and alertness.

Reduction in anxiety and anxiety related worries and negative feelings but again, common sense suggests possible.

All around bodily relaxation and relief from emotional and mental fatigue or stress.

The reduction of some kinds of back pain which we suggest would be back pain commonly related to bad posture and tension. Back pain reduction is certainly possible with the type of back pain that is brought on by bad posture and tension and stress. Again common sense suggests this is possible but common sense prevails with all of the above.

There are many reported positive benefits and claims to receiving a head massage however we are only prepared to list these benefits due to keeping it real.

The end result is a heightened sense of well-being and a glorious state of relaxation that can last for hours afterwards.

If you are generally a tense and stressed person, you will notice due to the relaxation how really stressed you actually are simply because you will now have contrast to compare the before and after states.
