Course Description

As a new parent one of the most important things that you must learn about the newborn child is to understand them and make proper emotional and psychological contact. Within the mind and feelings of babies there is so much more taking place outside of your awareness than you can visually observe.

This course offers the study of baby psychology to help change that for you and teach you what is actually taking place within the mind and feelings of babies. It is essential that you understand how important it is to guide and nurture your child through their very early years on a level as they see and need it. What happens in the first two years of life sets them up for the rest of their childhood and even adulthood.

It is now understood that insecurity in adulthood especially within relationships may stem back to the relationship that developed between mother and child and any irregularities or disturbances such as rejection and neglect can have devastating effects in adulthood. This is just the tip of the iceberg and current psychology demonstrates the effects in adults who have emotional and psychological problems stem back to babyhood.

Newborn babies especially weeks old have a limited expression, so from the very earliest times, eye contact and eye activity is one of the strongest and most active senses at work. The child is looking and watching everything more so than any other sense, so connecting with the child through eye contact is important.

Engaging in verbal language and reciprocating baby language or baby noises without the actual use of words is also important along with facial expressions and body language as these are outward expressions and demonstrations of the internal activity of the baby’s mind.

For example some babies cry excessively for what appears to be no reason at all however on close inspection you will see excessive crying seems to accompany excessive saliva discharge and wind. In many cases the child is experiencing severe pain due to trapped wind which is more pain than we realise along with chronic heartburn or acid and this is also brought on by processed foods and powders which may not be natural or right for the baby even though the advertising industry says otherwise.

By communicating with your baby you are better allowing them to share their feelings with you.

This course is an invaluable guide, current and up to date for all parents, students on training courses to health care professionals.
