What is Ayurveda?

Introduction.

Ayurveda is a traditional Hindu system of medicine based around the idea of balancing bodily systems with the use of correct diet, yogic breathing and herbal treatments.

Ayurveda or Ayurvedic theory specifically states that everything throughout the universe (all things) seen and unseen, living or not is completely interconnected. Everything is one.

It is stated in Ayurvedic theory that correct health is achieved when the human mind, body and spirit are in balance or harmonious with the universe. Any interruption in this harmony may lead to disease and poor health.

Anything that changes or negatively influences your physical or emotional and mental well-being may cause you to be out of sync or balance with the universe. One of the most common disruptions is emotions.

Ayurvedic medicine is one of the world’s longest-running healing systems and was first developed thousands of years ago in India.

This course would be ideally suited to anyone who wants to learn more about promoting better health and treating diseases or sickness by improving lifestyle diet etc.

Ayurvedic medicine aims to rebalance your mind, body and spirit in the most natural way possible and it is the working down this route which will lead to better and improved health and or a reduction in sickness and disease.

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to this area of complementary medicine.

Grading Assessment:

This course is assessed upon the successful completion and submission of coursework with a Pass, Merit or Distinction. Distinction is 90%. All content is course work based, home study through the post or online, depending on the subject being studied. NO attendance or visits to any exam centre is required on this subject.

Entry Requirements:
There are NO entry requirements. No background training or qualifications are required. Anyone can enrol at any time, beginners, intermediates and experienced all year round. You are expected to be able to read and write or type/word process your coursework and be able to understand the English language.
