The great Master Dogen said, "To study the Way is to study the self and to study the self is to forget the self"

You have within you 'something' called a Pandora's box! Within your Pandora's box ( unconscious mind ) is all your pain and negative energy, the things you never liked or wanted or wished to deal with in your life, all your fears, resentments, hate, compulsions and so on, you name it, it's in there. It is just the minds way of keeping all the bad stuff away from your 'here and now' awareness', it's your way of protecting and keeping you safe from negative memories and experiences, otherwise all the bad stuff in your life would eat away at you, or drive you insane, some it does!

Daily sitting Meditation shakes loose our unresolved emotional issues, negative energy charges and wounding and makes us calmer and less reactive to inner and outside influences.

This deep and in-depth 'life altering' course will teach you how to Zen/meditate and give you an overall view of what it's all about, how to focus and train your mind and to stop intrusive thoughts and negative feelings invading your conscious mind every day. This tutorial is in no way connected to dogma, religion or deluded beliefs etc. Just simple mental calm control that you can bring into every day life. The same techniques used in prisons today for those who wish to make change in themselves and find calmness and mental control.

During meditation each time you return to the breath that you focus on you are empowering yourself with the ability to put your mind where you want it, when you want it there, for as long as you want it there. That simple fact is extremely important. We call this power of concentration Joriki. Joriki manifests itself in many ways. It's the center of the martial and visual arts in Zen. In fact, it's the source of all the activity of our lives.

In meditation we're trying to overcome all sorts of anxieties and agitation, maybe fears, anger, depression and or insecurity, all sorts of habitual intrusive thought patterns, compulsions and so on, so we are able to sit with ourselves. Life is difficult, we may have tremendous responsibilities, but the odd thing, the twisted logic, is that the way we relate to the basic flow of our life is to sit completely and totally still. It might seem more logical to speed up, but here we are reducing everything to a very basic level and as we progress to a deeper and more profound level then that is where the control will come.

Q: What can meditation do for you ?

A: Daily focused meditation can help and for most will make you a more calmer, balanced and in control person! Meditation practiced twice daily will lead to peace of mind and deep, deep down calmness. There is no doubt at all about this, anyone can achieve this in a matter of months if their need is great enough, is yours ?

Zazen is a particular kind of meditation, unique to Zen, that functions centrally at the very heart of the practice. Basically, Zazen is the study of the self. "To study the Way is to study the self, to study the self is to forget the self, and to forget the self is to be enlightened by the ten thousand things."

To be enlightened by the ten thousand things is to recognize the unity of the self and the ten thousand things. Zen practice returns to the same seated meditation again and again. For two thousand five hundred years that meditation has continued, from generation to generation; it's the most important thing that has been passed on. It spread from India to China, to Japan, to other parts of Asia, and then finally to the West. It's a very simple practice. It's very easy to describe and very easy to follow. But like all other practices, it takes doing in order for it to happen.

We tend to see body, breath, and mind separately, but in Zazen they come together as one reality. The first thing to pay attention to is the position of the body in Zazen. The body has a way of communicating outwardly to the world and inwardly to oneself.

A Zen thought! . . . . . 'How you position your body has a lot to do with what happens with your mind.'
