The following information is on the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy UKCP recognition of counselling and psychotherapy courses.

The UKCP exists to promote and maintain the highest level of professionalism and standards it can regarding the safe practice of psychotherapy and counselling, for the benefit of members of the general public.

The UKCP's main purpose is to promote the science and art of counselling and psychotherapy for all of the publics safety.

The Open College highly recommends the UKCP training courses in counselling and psychotherapy.

If you are looking for an unquestionable and recognised qualification, we advise either a UKCP of BACP recognised and accredited training course, which will provide you with full practical training - face to face with a period of supervision for all new trainee students in the field of counselling and psychotherapy.
