Domestic violence affects many races and cultures and can occur in any family setting at any time. Most domestic violence victims are mainly female but many are also males.
Types of abuse can be emotional, verbal, physical, sexual and financial.
If you are or have been the victim of someone's cruelty and violence, you may of been unknowingly supporting/satisfying the abusers conscious and unconscious irrational needs.
You or someone you know may have been physically, mentally and emotionally controlled and manipulated in a way that the dominating abuser/bully knows exactly which buttons to press to satisfy their needs.
The abuser needs to see pain, fear and emotional dependency in their victim on a regular basis. This is where he/she gains their control over their victim. This provides a satisfaction for their own suppressed fears, pain and endless issues. The abuser/bully often projects/converts their own inadequacies onto other people in the form of criticism and ridicule. The abuser must see their victim helpless, weak, dependant and fearful. In truth the abuser is often powerless in the world.
